What You Need to Know
Lucky for you, this is a pretty straightforward process with only a few steps you’ll need to learn. What made it a little bit more complicated recently is that Chase’s online banking interface got a bit of an overhaul, moving around links, buttons, and menus that we’ve been using for this process to all new places.

How to Transfer Points
- Step 1: Log in to your Chase account
Easy enough, right? - Step 2: Navigate to the Ultimate Rewards Section
Ok, now here’s where it starts getting confusing. If you only have a personal login, the Ultimate Rewards section should be in the upper right hand corner of the online banking portal. Click it. Easy. But if you use a combined or a business login, that banner is suspiciously missing for some account. - Step 3: Manually Type in the UR URL
After you’re logged in to your Chase account, simply click on the URL address bar and type in “ultimaterewardspoints.chase.com” and hit enter. That should take you to the UR accounts landing page. - Step 4: Click the Right Card
The landing page should list out all of your eligible UR-cards and show you how many points you have with each. Click through to either the CSR, CSP, or CIP since those are the only Chase cards that allow you to transfer points to partners. - Step 5: Navigate to the Transfer Screen
This is another area that Chase recently changed. Click the ‘Rewards Details’ button in the top menu bar, then click “Ways to Use Points”. Scroll to the bottom of that screen and click “Transfer to Travel Partners”. - Step 6: Pick Your Partner (But Don’t Do-Si-Do)
Assuming you’ve already got a redemption researched, award space is available, and you’re just waiting on getting the points transferred over to the partner account, this is where you pick that partner. Click it. - Step 7: Fill Out Your Partner Account Info
Another easy one – just grab your account number from the partner website and copy/paste it into the empty text box. Make sure the information (including your name) is exactly as it appears on the partner website, else your transfer may get rejected. - Step 8: Submit the Transfer Request
Follow through the guided steps in the transfer screen all the way to the end, make sure you entered in all of your numbers and text correctly, then submit your request. You’re done!

Timing Your Points Transfer
The Chase travel partners point transfers get completed instantly, or very close to it. However, there are sometimes delays in the process that can cause them to take a week or longer. When you land on the final page of the transfer process you’ll see the boilerplate wording warning you of this timing delay. In 99% of cases, the transfer wait times are as follows:

Even though this is a relatively straightforward process, there are still a few things to consider before transferring your points.
- Transfer Ratios: While most transfers occur at a 1:1 ratio (1,000 Chase points = 1,000 airline miles/hotel points), exceptions exist. Always double-check the transfer ratio for your chosen partner. This is especially important when transfer bonuses are active since that ratio will change.
- Planning and Availability: Before initiating a transfer, ensure award availability exists for your desired flights or hotel stays within the partner program. To the extent it’s possible with your selected transfer partner, have them put your booking on hold before transferring the points. This will reduce any chance that the availability you’re seeing is “phantom” space (ie, not actually available).
- Transfer Finality: Transfers to travel partners are generally irreversible, even for phantom space that wasn’t confirmed. Exercise caution and confirm all details before finalizing the transfer.
- Exact Same Account Information: Make sure the name on your Chase account matches exactly with the name on the partner account. No middle initial with Chase? Then no middle initial with the partner.
- Test Transfers: Do not make test transfers before your “real” transfer to a travel partner. Doing these test transfers shortly before a full transfer will sometimes result in a fraud-hold on the points until the request can be manually reviewed.
