[3/20/25 Update]
It looks like the rumors were true! We’re seeing posts from other blog pages, as well as direct links to the application page for the 100k UR SUB offer on the CSP!
Again, if you’re able to hang tight for a couple weeks I’m guessing this will be available for personal referral links which means you can gain a 10k referral bonus in addition to your p2 getting the 100k SUB.
If you don’t have a p2’s referral link and wouldn’t mind using ours to help support our page, we’ll be available to send you the updated links directly as soon as they’re available!
It’s no secret that we’re trying to grow our FB community, right? Do us a quick favor and click the little Facebook banner right above this and request to join!
Our all-time favorite card for beginners and advanced travel hackers alike might be getting a bump in its sign up bonus next week.
There’s just one small catch…
Are the Rumors True?
It’s been a while since we’ve seen a really good limited time SUB offer on one of the Sapphire cards, but it looks like we’re in for a treat next week.
Several rumors stemming from posts on Reddit and being seemingly confirmed by Chase employees are hinting that the CSP (Chase Sapphire Preferred) will have an all-time high bonus of 100,000 UR with a $5k minimum spend amount starting the week of March 24.
What’s the catch? You’ll need to physically walk into a Chase branch to apply.
Personal Referrals May Update in a Few Weeks
In the past when Chase has offered up deals like these that are in-branch, they’ve restricted the offer to that venue only which forces the customer to visit a brick and mortar location. There was a good chance that the offer would be released on personal referrals after a couple weeks, but it was never a guarantee.
If you’re looking to roll the dice, you might just get lucky with your p2’s referral link showing the 100,000 offer later on. Unless you need the new card in your wallet for a big purchase right now, you might be able grab a nice 10,000 referral bonus if you just sit tight.
Eligibility and The Sapphire Switcheroo
When the Sapphire cards were first released, you were able to apply for both of them at the same time and earn the SUB x2.
After a while Chase decided that they weren’t going to allow that anymore, so they restricted customers to only being able to apply for a Sapphire if you didn’t have one already, and only if it’s been more than 24 months since you received a Sapphire SUB.
The last big change they enforced was extending that 24 month waiting period to a full 4 years – 48 months. That means if you received either a CSR or CSP SUB within the past 48 months, you’d be ineligible for another one until month 49. Full stop, no exceptions.
If you’re one of the lucky people that have had their Sapphire for 48+ months, are under 5/24, and you’re looking to take advantage of this new 100,000 SUB, read our guide on how to pull off the Sapphire Switcheroo here.
This guide will walk you through the process ste-by-step, and tell you exactly what you need to do and say to get another 100,000 points added to your travel stash.
Shoot! I Just Applied and was Approved for 60,000 Points
Well, not necessarily the end of the road for you on this one. Chase is well known to honor requests to match newly released sign up bonuses to those who have just recently applied. In our facebook group, thePointsPage Community, we’ve seen datapoints from people being matched from apps as late as a month prior.
To try and take advantage of this generosity, send Chase a Secure Message (SM) through your online banking portal telling them you just applied for the lower offer but would like to recent a match to the higher offer. They’ll hopefully respond back with positive news!
Getting to the Point(s)
The Chase Sapphire Preferred card is already at the top of everyone’s Top 10 lists for this hobby, and rightfully so. It’s feature-rich, packed full of trip coverages to call upon if something goes awry when you’re away, offers a solid SUB, and all for only a $95 annual fee
Adding on the increased SUB of 100,000 UR points makes this one a no brainer if you’re under 5/24 and looking for a new card to add to your wallet. Shoot, even if you already have the card in your wallet, it’s a good time to downgrade it and reapply for the extra points.
As we mentioned above in this article, you can read our step-by-step guide on exactly how to do this here.
