We all know the classic ways to maximize Capital One miles: those dreamy international flights and luxurious hotel stays. But what if you’re looking for some entertainment closer to home? Did you know your Capital One miles can open doors to amazing experiences like concerts, food festivals, and sporting events?
While it’s not the most valuable way to use your points, if you’re flush with them and looking for something to do on Saturday night, this might be just the thing for you.

Capital One Entertainment: Your Ticket to Fun
While most of the card issuers also include options to use your points and miles for non-travel related things, Cap1 stepped up their game a bit and actually offers worthwhile experiences. Here’s a breakdown of what you can expect:
- Concerts and Live Music:
- Use your miles to snag tickets to your favorite artist’s next show; even if it’s sold out publicly. Capital One Entertainment provides access to a vast selection of concerts, from intimate gigs to large-scale performances. Since they have agreements in place with artists and/or venues, this is where you can snag pretty decent tickets even when the rest of what you can see online is priced for resale.
- Sporting Events:
- Baseball season in full swing? You can use your miles to catch a game! Or perhaps you’re a fan of basketball, hockey, or other sports. Capital One Entertainment offers tickets to a variety of sporting events, some for as cheap as 5,000 points per ticket. The game in this screenshot is one of those exact games, actually. 5k points for a 3rd baseline lower box seat?! Uhhh, yea!

- Theater and Shows:
- From broadway shows, to local theater productions, there are many options available.
- Food Festivals and Culinary Experiences:
- Aside from the killer baseball seats, I think this is one of the better options for using your spare miles for entertainment purposes. Capital One sometimes provides access to exclusive dining events and food festivals that aren’t available to the general public. This is a fantastic way to indulge in culinary delights and create memorable experiences with famous restaurants and chefs from around the world.

Keys to Remember

While the program itself is easy enough to find and use, there are some key items that come to mind that I think everyone should understand before jumping in.
- Capital One Entertainment Platform:
- This is your hub for finding and redeeming entertainment experiences. You can access it through the Capital One website or mobile app by navigating to the home-page tile and clicking the ‘Entertainment’ link (shown in the screenshot above)
- Redemption Values:
- It’s important to be aware that the redemption value of your miles may vary depending on the event. Always compare the cost of tickets in miles versus cash to ensure you’re getting a good deal. Which… meh, like I’ve said a couple times throughout this post already, this is a strategy for those who are flush with Cap1 points. I think I’ll usually end up getting less than a penny a point using my miles this way, but sometimes that can make sense depending on resale prices for certain events.
- Cardholder Exclusives:
- Keep an eye out for “Capital One Cardholder Exclusives.” These are special events and experiences that are only available to Capital One cardholders. They often include VIP packages, meet-and-greets, and other unique perks, and are great ways to get rid of some extra points.
- Check Regularly
- New events are added to the platform frequently, so check back often to see what’s available. Some events like the curated Exclusive ones will sell out almost instantly once posted. If you want in on something like that, make sure you’re consistently checking the website to see what’s available.
Getting to the Point(s)
Similar to some of the other programs out there, Capital One offers more than just travel rewards and rental car bookings. By exploring their Entertainment platform, you can unlock a world of exciting experiences, from concerts and sporting events to food festivals and more. So, next time you’re planning a night out, consider using your Capital One miles to score yourself a great deal!
