Chasing down trips and building up your travel bank just got easier (and potentially more lucrative) thanks to Chase’s current limited-time offer. Buckle up, because you can snag a whopping $750 bonus by opening a new Chase business checking account and meeting the deposit / transaction requirements.

Here's What You Need to Know

Generally speaking, this one is pretty straightforward, though it requires a significant 2+ month investment of your time and initial deposit if you want to get the full sign up bonus. We’ll review both options for this offer, as you can opt for the full $750 with a larger deposit, or a $400 bonus for a much smaller deposit.

How to Waive the Monthly Fee

Chase assesses a $15 monthly fee for this account, but based on the deposit amounts you’ll be putting into the account that fee will be waived automatically. Just be sure to keep your daily balance above the $2,000 minimum requirement during the entire time the account is open. Combine this requirement with the 5 qualifying transactions, and you should likely deposit $2,050 or more to account for the debit card transactions.

Which Offer is Better?

This will be a question you’ll only be able to answer for yourself.  If the funds aren’t an issue and your personal financial situation allows you to rank the cash deposit higher than what you’d make with investments during the same 60 day period, then you should go for the larger offer.

Personally, I’d rather only have to tie up $2,000 for 60 days in an essentially non-interest bearing deposit account. There’s a lot more I can do with the additional $28,000 in an investment account instead of leaving it to sit in a checking account.

What You Need to Open the Business Account

Opening a business checking account isn’t exactly the same as opening a personal account, and there’s a bit more paperwork you’re going to have to provide.

Since the paperwork requirements will vary by State, I highly recommend calling your local branch to speak with a business banker about what documents they’ll require to get your new checking account set up.

When I opened my account in MI, I had to provide the following information as a Sole Proprietorship business, including the state-filed business registration paperwork which isn’t something you’re required to do everywhere:

The process for opening the account as an LLC type business is similar, with only a few minor differences in the paperwork you’ll need to provide:

Who's Eligible, and Other Important Info

Unfortunately, this offer isn’t available for anyone and everyone. In addition to providing the proper paperwork listed above, you need to meet certain additional criteria set forth by Chase in order to obtain this bonus:

  • This offer is only available for Chase business checking customers that haven’t received this bonus within the past 24 months. To be clear, the 24 month clock begins from the enrollment date of the first offer.
  • You can either apply online or in-branch. If applying in-branch make sure you apply for your custom offer code through the offer page.
  • Funding the $2,000 or $30,000 deposit with a credit card is not allowed. ❌
  • Chase will perform a soft credit inquiry, which does not affect your credit score.

Getting to the Point

Is this offer worth it?

For travel hackers and points enthusiasts, this can be a lucrative opportunity to jumpstart your travel fund. Earning $400 to $750 towards your next adventure is nothing to scoff at, especially considering the relatively straightforward requirements. However, it’s crucial to carefully consider your financial situation and ensure you can comfortably meet the minimum deposit and maintain the balance requirements.
